Agents Responsibilities
Agents should be aware of the Australian Privacy Principles as they relate to collection of personal information. Information can only be collected by lawful and fair means and at the time of collecting personal information Agents must ensure the individual is aware of the following:
- The name of the Agent’s organisation and how to contact it
- That the individual can gain access to the information and seek appropriate amendment
- The purpose for which the information is being collected
- Any organisation to which the Agency may disclose information of that kind.
A Privacy Statement should be provided, made available to, or drawn to the attention of any individual before personal information is collected.
Your Personal Information
The collection of personal information from you by this Agency is necessary for the Agency to carry out one or more of its functions or activities including for security and/or marketing purposes or as a means to assist you in finding a property that suits your needs.
The Agency will only collect personal information by lawful and fair means.
You are entitled to access the information supplied by you to the Agency. Agency contact details are as set out below.
The information is collected by the Agent for security and marketing purposes.
The information provided will not be disclosed to other organisations without your permission or unless permitted by the Privacy Act 1988.
Should you not provide the relevant information, the Agency may not be able to properly carry out its functions or activities or provide you with access to properties.
You have the right to request the information held by the Agent not be used for marketing purposes and that any information errors be corrected.
The Agent will provide (where applicable), on request, a copy of its privacy policy.
